Description
This product uses high-quality PVC as the base material, combined with a high-barrier PVDC coating. It offers excellent moisture and oxygen barrier properties, effectively extending the shelf life of pharmaceuticals. Custom colors (blue, green, amber, transparent, etc.) are available to enhance brand recognition or meet light-blocking requirements for certain medications.Product Requirements: Glossy and uniform transparency. No cracks, scratches, dents, punctures, delamination, missing spots, or oil stains are allowed. The film roll should be flat, evenly cut, and uniformly elastic.
Coating Weight and Thickness
Coating Weight (PVDC): 40g/m² and 60g/m² indicate the weight of the PVDC coating. Typically, the higher the coating weight, the better the barrier performance. Coating weights of 90g/m², 120g/m², or even higher are available to meet the needs of different pharmaceutical products.
PVC Base Thickness: Common base thickness ranges from 200µm to 350µm, customizable based on application requirements.
PVC/PVDC Composite Film Material Features
1.High Barrier Performance: The core advantage of PVC/PVDC coated film is its outstanding barrier properties. The PVDC (polyvinylidene chloride) coating significantly reduces water vapor and oxygen permeability, improving barrier performance by 5–10 times compared to plain PVC rigid film. This is critical for protecting moisture- and oxygen-sensitive drugs and prolonging shelf life.
2.Excellent Formability: PVC offers excellent thermoformability, making it suitable for blister packaging. PVDC-coated film also supports good heat forming and is compatible with high-speed production lines.
3.Chemical Stability: PVDC coating is chemically inert and will not react with pharmaceuticals, ensuring product safety and efficacy.
4.Mechanical Properties: Good rigidity and flexibility, along with excellent scratch and abrasion resistance.
5.Cost-Effective: Compared to other high-barrier materials, PVC/PVDC composite sheet offers better cost-effectiveness.
6.Color Customizability: Available in a variety of colors (e.g., transparent, white, amber) to meet marketing or drug-specific packaging needs. For example, opaque blisters can reduce children's curiosity about medications by concealing their color and shape.
7.Regulatory Compliance: Films for medical packaging must meet stringent regulatory standards. Many PVC/PVDC composite sheet manufacturers state compliance with GMP standards and pharmaceutical packaging regulations, such as USFDA Type III DMF.
Applications of PVC/PVDC Composite Film
1.Blister Packaging: Mainly used for solid dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, pills), as well as certain health supplements that require high-barrier protection.
2.Other Uses: Also applicable in roll stock packaging, outer packaging, fill-and-seal packaging, lamination, and printing.
